Abbie Palmer is 18 years old and lives in Waipu Northland. She plays out of Whangarei Squash Club and North Shore Squash Club. Abbie first stared playing squash at 4 years old and won her first National Junior title at age 7. Her two international titles in Malaysia came when she was 10 years old.

 

At 12 years old Abbie was the youngest ever to win the Northland Womens Open and has won the title 5 times. Abbie has also won 29 NZ district titles from 2003-2015, 8 North Island age group titles, 7 South Island age group titles and 7 National Junior titles along with 6 Australian Junior Championship titles.

 

Abbie has been the NZ National doubles Champion in 2012 and the NZ Junior Open champion in 2014. Abbie was the winner of the ASB secondary school Sports women of the year award in 2013 and 2014, she was also a code winner at the Konica Minolta Northland sports awards in 2011.

 

Abbie has represented NZ at two Trans Tasman test series in 2014 and 2015 and has represented NZ at 3 World Junior individual and teams championships in 2011, 2013 and 2015. She was also a Squash NZ ambassador for the sport in 2014.

 

In 2015 Abbie represented NZ again at the Youth Commonwealth Games in samoa, winning a silver medal in the womens doubles and a bronze medal in mixed doubles.

 

Abbie has started off her 2016 campaign with a silver medal at the Oceania U19 Championships, and has been selected into the NZ National Senior squad.
